Josh McDowell is Right; The Internet is the Greatest Threat to Christians

There’s been a lot of dialogue around the web regarding Josh McDowell’s comment in a keynote address that; The internet is the greatest threat to Christians.

I think he’s right.

Josh says that the main issue boils down to the abundance of information that has created more skepticism. This is not why Josh McDowell is right. Jesus can stand up to skepticism if we get out of the way.

The real reason that the internet is the greatest threat to Christians is Christians themselves!

Christians have yet to learn how to be effective in the age of content abundance. I’ve been saying this for two years; the vast majority of Christians and Christian leaders have no idea what they are doing when it comes to creating content on the internet.

We can no longer create content that was intended to be consumed in a closed environment (church building) and spew it all over the internet to land in the laps of people with no context or relationship in which to make sense of it. It’s why I wrote Context and Voice.
